About this event

Reporting child abuse or neglect is a responsibility of mental health professionals. This ethics training will examine how mental health professionals will understand the law (2151.421) requiring professionals to report child abuse and/or neglect. Professionals will also learn the appropriate way to make a report to a child protective agency with the needed information to ensure appropriate decisions for children. Professionals will also learn the legal and protective implications for families that become involved with child protective services. Finally, professionals will understand the ethical dilemma of confidentiality and informed consent of clients vs the mandate to report child abuse and or neglect.
